VersAtelier Customer Guide
All corsets from VersAtelier are Custom Made for you, you will need to allow 3 - 4 weeks for your corset to be made.
What time frame should I expect? Since each garment is made to order the normal manufacturing time is between 3 and 4 weeks.
Will I be comfortable and able to breathe wearing a VersAtelier Corset? Corsets by VersAtelier are created to fit your body so it's snug, but not uncomfortable. A well-made corset fits comfortably at the ribs and hips and compresses only your waist, allowing for easy breathing.
How much will my waist be reduced? VersAtelier Corsets are designed for a 4 inch waist reduction depending on the style of corset. If you'd like more restriction, please notify us.
Are your corsets only for women with perfect figures? VersAtelier specializes in custom made corsets that will fit and flatter you beautifully. We make corsets for men and women of all body types, shapes and sizes.
Will my corset help me lose weight? While you may feel like eating lighter, a corset is not a proper weight loss program. We recommend this be done with proper nutrition and exercise under the supervision of your Doctor. A corset restricts your waist and causes your organs to re-align. However, your stomach, while compressed when wearing the corset, will return to normal size when you take it off. If you wish to maintain organ re-alignment while sleeping, a comfortable VersAtelier Sleeping Corset is recommended.
What style do you suggest for a male? For masculine wear, we recommend the Venus or Hiplette corset. These styles have been designed to be worn discreetly under men's trousers, if so desired.
Can I lend my corset to a friend to wear? Your VersAtelier Corset will mold to your body contours like a fine pair of shoes. Lending it to someone else to wear is not recommended.
Is your merchandise guaranteed? All merchandise from VersAtelier Corsets and Productions is guaranteed to be free from defect and may be returned for repair (or replacement at our discretion) at no charge within 30 days from date of receipt. All returns must have a Return Authorization Number
What is your cancellation / refund policy? (Refers to VersAtelier only) We can provide an exchange on standard size corsets, but they are subject to a 20% restocking fee, as well as a return shipping fee. Custom corsetry is non-returnable, but we can do alterations for simply the shipping cost up to 30 days from when you received your order, a service provided by the extra fee. Once an item is produced, we will do not provide cash refunds.
Orders cancelled after 72 hours will be assessed a 20% restock fee. If you wish to cancel your order and receive a refund, you must call +44 7588 637856 and speak to our Accounting Department to verify your information. Alternatively, email us at sales@sinfulsoles.info or use the 'Contact Us' form as soon as possible please. No refunds will be issued on custom made merchandise that has been made to customer specifications or on garments that we deem to have been subjected to abnormal abuse or stress. Non-defective returns are at the discretion of Sinful Soles (and VersAtelier Corsets) and (if authorized) will be issued store credit. Items that have been worn, or not in original condition as when they were received by purchaser are not returnable.
How do I know my Corset Size? Please view the size chart to see the measurements needed for a standard size. Bust and Hips are restricted by 3” and Waists are restricted by 4”. Measure yourself, then subtract those amounts from those areas and you will find your corset size. If you do not fit into the size chart in ALL THREE AREAS, you must order a custom corset. We can modify a corset, but there is a hefty reconstruction fee, often more than the cost of originally ordering a custom corset. Standard orders that require modifications are the customers responsibility, not Sinful Soles or VersAtelier Corsets.
IF YOU DO NOT ORDER THE CORRECT SIZE, all we can provide is an exchange on standard size corsets. Custom corsetry is non-returnable, but we can do alterations for simply the shipping cost up to 30 days from when you received your order. Once an item is produced, we will do not provide cash refunds.
What is the difference between a corset, a corselet and a fashion bustier or fashion cincher? Corsets and corselets are designed for the customer who wants to restrict their waist and create a more curvaceous figure. 4 inches for corsets, 2 inches for corselets. As such they are designed with interior and exterior qualities and materials to facilitate this without tearing. A fashion bustier or fashion cincher is designed with the sexy look of a corset, but do not provide restriction. Their favourable qualities are different. They are lighter weight (better for hot temperatures), not as restrictive to movement and easier (and faster) to get into (or out of). They have several options for front closure. Because they require less materials and time to fabricate, they are a less expensive alternative to corsets or corselets.
How should I clean my VersAtelier Corsets Garment? Dry-cleaning is the recommended method.
What should I know about Rush Fee Service? Rush Fee Service is offered on an as-available basis. At times our factory is too busy to handle any additional Rush Orders or component materials may not be available. In such cases we will notify you by email or telephone. 10 Day Rush refers to manufacturing time (in work days) only.
Can your corsets help my back problems? Using a corset to help alleviate pressure on the spinal column is sometimes recommended by doctors for various back problems. We advise you consult with your doctor before attempting self-treatment. If a corset is recommended, you may find wearing it backwards, with the steel busk lining up with the backbone gives excellent support and relieves pressure. For men, the 104 Venus corset is perfectly suited for this purpose.
What is “BBT”? BBT refers to “Boning, Binding, and Trim”, which are all components of the corset. Boning is the metal stays that divide the sections of the corset vertically. They are what gives the corset its shape. Binding refers to the fabric that covers the front busk clips as well as the back lacing area. Trim is the fabric that caps the top and bottom of the corset. We can make our garments all one colour or with contrasting boning, binding, and/or trim.
I purchased a Corselet and after a few wears the boning has popped out. What happened? We've found that customers who purchase a corselet, purchase them with the intentions of using them like a corset. Often, they cinch down too far and put too much strain on their item. Corselets are intended for 2” reduction and are more of a fashion type item…please keep this in mind when purchasing a Corselet.
